Sensory Blend Profile
Oliva's tribute to 135 years since Melanio Oliva planted his first tobacco in Pinar del Río in 1886. The Serie V blend, an Ecuadorian wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler, in a 5½ x 54 perfecto fanned out in its box; earth, cedar, cocoa, nuts and pepper, with a floral lift.
In 1886 Melanio Oliva began growing tobacco in Cuba's Pinar del Río; his descendants later left Cuba for Central America and founded the company that bears his name. Oliva marked the 135th anniversary with this perfecto, shown at the 2021 PCA show and shipped that fall in 15,000 boxes of 12, the lid painted with one of Oliva's farms in Estelí. In 2022 Oliva made it an annual release.
