Unveiled for Liga Privada's tenth anniversary in 2018, H99 is named for its wrapper, a hybrid of stalk-cut Habano and Corojo '99 grown in the Connecticut River Valley, where Corojo is rarely attempted. A single farmer grew the leaf, so the cigar was allocated by lottery until Drew Estate made it regular production in 2022.
