Sensory Blend Profile
The maduro expression of Drew Estate's coffee-and-tobacco Tabak Especial, which it calls Negra. A two-year-aged Mexican San Andrés maduro wrapper over a Sumatra binder and Nicaraguan filler; mellow to medium, with earth, chocolate and espresso, like a dark roast.
Drew Estate has made Tabak Especial since 2002, inspired by the coffee farms Jonathan Drew Sann visited in northern Nicaragua after moving to Estelí in 1998 to build his factory. It marries roasted-coffee aromas with dark air-cured tobacco in two expressions: the creamy, Connecticut-wrapped Dulce and the dark-roast Negra.
